NASA Pre-Service Teacher Institute Summer 2013

Friday, June 7th, 2013

NASA and the National Institute of Aerospace are sponsoring an exciting two-week institute for university students enrolled in an education program who plan to teach in elementary schools.  We are trying to reach underrepresented students for this program and would like your assistance to disseminate information about this opportunity.

The NASA Pre-Service Teacher Institute is a weekday program from July 22- August 2, 2013 held in Hampton, Virginia.  Students who participate will be paid a stipend for attending.  Experienced, award-winning teachers will share best practices in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education. Our participants will have opportunities to interact with NASA scientists and engineers, making real world connections to classroom content, and will walk away with a multitude of free resources that can be used to engage students in their own classrooms.

Selected students must have transportation to and from the National Institute of Aerospace each day and must provide their own lodging.

Southern Teachers Agency Recruitment Fairs

Thursday, November 3rd, 2011

The Southern Teachers Agency will hold a Teacher Recruitment Fair on March 10, 2012.

Hiring administrators from schools around the South will be interviewing candidates for K-12 teaching jobs in all fields and subjects.

Southern Teachers Agency was founded in 1902 and is the oldest teacher-placement service in America.  The hundreds of private & independent schools that STA serves offer something special:  a teaching environment that helps young teachers succeed.  What creates this environment? Small classes of college-bound students, supportive colleagues and administrators, and the academic freedom of a curriculum that is not hyper-focused on standardized testing.

For more information about STA and these opportunities, please their website.
